HSC – 8/10/17

The HSC is a tough set of exams. Our competitive world demands that students do as well as they can. There are obvious consequences to a student’s performance. The primary concern is whether or not the results will enable or disable a student to pursue her career or educational ambitions.

While we want to see students achieve their potential, we don’t want them being unnecessarily overburdened and anxious about it.

We can encourage, comfort and coach but at the end of the day it’s up to them.

At CAC, as they go through this grueling process, we want our students to know they are loved by God and us. To this end, our Love In Action team prepare neat packages for each of the student’s in our church who are completing the HSC. This morning these were handed out to (L-R) Hannah Payne, Joshua Chan, Joshua Ying, Matthew Ho and Timothy Dodd. We wish them well.

Here is a prayer which can be prayed by students before exams:-

Merciful Father,

I praise you for discovery, knowledge and the privilege of formal education.

Thank you for schools, teachers, the skills and wisdom of all who have taught me.

Please help me to recall what I have studied and give me a clear, fast and creative mind so that I may complete this exam within the allotted time and to the best of my ability.

May I be awarded the mark that reflects my ability and preparation.

Help me to love you with my whole heart, soul and mind and to use my God given talents to glorify you.

In Christ’s name, Amen
