Northwest Mission 2020

Northwest Mission 2020

In 2020 we will be attempting something that has never been done before. The Anglican Churches of the North West Districts are joining together to reach out to the entire area. It begins this year with training nights and will culminate on Easter Day 2020 with one joint service. The initiative is led by St Paul’s, Castle Hill, and CAC is one of the partners.

  1. The Theme – ‘Is this it?’

The theme is an open question designed to get people thinking. Is this all there is to life? Do we run the race of life, die and simply snuff out? Is there hope beyond the grave?

The advertising will direct people to a website www.thereishope which will tell the gospel and invite visitors to the events.

  1. Training nights

There are 3 training nights planned for this year.

On 1 May, Mark McCrindle and Peter Mayrick will be at St Paul’s Castle Hill to help us to think of effective ways to evangelise

On 31 July, Dr Peter and Christine Jensen will speak about, ‘Prodigals and the ones who love them’, what to do when your children are not following Christ. Dr Sam Chan will speak about telling the gospel in a sceptical world.

On 17 October, Dr Raj Gupta will speak about church growth.

These are important nights that will help us to focus, pray and unite in our common desire to see the North West won for Christ.

  1. TEDx style talks

TEDx style talks are planned in lead up to the main events. These will be short talks with practical themes.

  1. Pre-Easter event at the Castle Hill Showground

The week before Easter we are planning a large event at the Castle Hill Showground where Dr Sam Chan will be the speaker.

  1. Easter Sunday 2020 at Bella Vista Farm

On Easter Sunday, 12 April, all the Anglican Churches in the area will be joining at Bella Vista Farm. Archbishop Glenn Davies will be the speaker.
